LOST Season 4 Finale has been Mythbusted

I can thank my husband for giving my the heads up on this one. Adam Savage from Mythbusters has busted Keamy’s C4 setup and more.

I think my favorite part is where he says, Perhaps the writers posit that the island exists on a plane between both space and time, and that this plane, this rift (that causes the weird temporal anomalies, and the polar bears, etc.), also taps into certain sensitive peoples’ psyches?

I knew there was a reason I love to watch Mythbusters. It’s just a bonus that Adam is a big LOST fan!

Other LOST season opener reviews

A few writers that I really respect have posted their own reviews for the LOST season four opener, “The Beginning of the End.” I like to see what other people thought about each episode. Most people let their ideas percolate for a day or two before posting their reviews, unlike my tendency to blog as I’m watching. So here’s what they thought…

ChipperHalf really loved Hurley and hated Jack in this episode. She agrees with me about how it seemed to pale in comparison to the other season openers, but she doesn’t see it as a bad thing.

Bryy has a little bit of coarse language for another critic, but he thinks that the way that they handled Charlie’s death was brilliant. I especially like reading what he has to say, as he’s in the industry.

What answers do we need the most in the final seasons of LOST?

Even though I’ve run out of things to say about LOST during this long hiatus, thankfully, not everyone has. ChipperHalf on thisisby.us posted a series of questions entitled Lost: The Final Seasons - What Answers Do We Need The Most?

Take a look and get anxious again for the release of the LOST Season 3 DVD collection.

Wizard Entertainment interviews LOST’s Damon Lindelof

A fantastic interview with LOST co-creator Damon Lindelof is available from Wizard Entertainment.  Why should you read it?

Damon reveals what he feels the fall season accomplished, and I’m not sure I agree with the question he feels was answered satisfactorily.

He also spills some not-quite-spoilers about the upcoming season.  We’ll find out who the Others are and what they want. He explains why they killed off Mr. Eko.  He also explains that Nikki and Paulo do have a larger purpose in the story that just hasn’t be realized yet.  He mentions some incorrect thinking that we fans have about the Others, as well as some of the loose ends from season two and how they may or may not be tied up this season.  Damon does list some of the characters who will be getting flashbacks in the new episodes, as well.

Have you seen the Orientation video? (Not that one…)

A multitude of people are to thank for this, discovering the various video segments from the LOST Experience… See you in the next life from LOST-TV is the one who posted this compilation video and brought it to my attention:

53 fragments of the Alvar Hanso orientation video

For various personal reasons (including a death in the family and my son’s first birthday) I hadn’t been following the latest act of TLE for a while, but the webmazers have not been idle. I was suprised and excited to watch this latest compilation, which features Alvar Hanso giving instructions to DHARMA recruits… before it cuts away to show it was on a video screen, and Mittlewerk addresses a roomful of… who?

The video is not complete. There are additional fragments that have not yet been uncovered. This was put together out of those video fragments that had been found as of August 25. I’m hoping the newer video featuring newer fragments will appear under the “Explore More Videos” section once it has been compiled. If not, I will post the new link here when it becomes available.
