Hubby to Me: Isn’t that Mr. Eko?

My husband and I were watching The Bourne Identity last night. (He’d never seen it!) We got the The Jason Bourne Collection (The Bourne Identity / The Bourne Supremacy / The Bourne Ultimatum) for Christmas, and last night was as good a time as any to get into it.

I first saw the movie before LOST ever aired, so I did a double take when he said, “Hey, isn’t that Mr. Eko?” Sure enough, it was Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Nykwana Wombosi. (Say THAT five times fast.)

You know you’re in a LOST drought when you get excited about one of the actors shows up for 15 minutes in a movie you’re watching.

(As a side note, I apologize for the technical problems last week. My Wordpress upgrade did not go smoothly.)

Breaking News: Richard Alpert is Mayor of Gotham City!

We went to see The Dark Knight this afternoon, apparently along with half the population. I was a bit surprised to see that Richard Alpert was the Mayor of Gotham City. Not only was he wearing his trademark eyeliner, but he also survived an assassination attempt. Surely this proves that Richard Alpert, under his assumed name as mayor, is immortal and able to travel through time, space, and alternate realities. Does this mean that the rest of the Other inhabitants of the LOST island are going to show up, possibly as Batman villains?

*snicker*

Michael Emerson’s hysterical interview on VH1’s Best Week Ever

Michael Emerson does a fantastic job portraying the many-layered Benjamin Linus on LOST. Watch him nail this interview with Jessica St. Clair on VH1’s Best Week Ever. Make sure you don’t miss the lsat two or three seconds.

LOST guest star reprises soap opera role on AMC

You may remember Ronald Guttman as Jack’s patient Angelo in “The Hunting Party.”  Angelo had a spinal tumor… and a beautiful daughter named Gabriela.

This month, Ronald Guttman is reprising his role as Alexander Cambias, Sr. on ABC Daytime’s All My Children.  The character of Alexander Cambias was supposed to have died in 2003, but in true soap opera style, he is very much alive, having faked his own death.  If you think LOST requires an inordinate amount of suspension of belief from week to week, you must not watch soap operas.  Not only is his character back from the dead, but he will also be revealed as the Satin Slayer, the serial killer who has taken out a number of female characters - including fan favorite Dixie Martin.

I remember thinking it was unusual for AMC to have gotten the same actor to do some voiceovers earlier this month, when we haven’t seen Guttman’s character in four years.  I should’ve known.

Thankfully, LOST is unlikely to bring his character back from the dead.

Emilie de Ravin’s marriage over when it had hardly begun

The actress who plays Claire on LOST is single again.  Emilie de Ravin is now separated from her husband of only six months, Josh Janowicz.

They haven’t said why they decided to separate at this time.

Here’s wishing the best for Emilie; may she hopefully find happiness.

Maybe the Others can make room for Evangeline Lilly after fire

With any luck, actress Evangeline Lilly won’t have to rough it the way her character Kate has had to on LOSTHer Kailua home was gutted by fire early this morning.  Luckily, Evangeline and her roommates were not home at the time; she was already on set for the finally day of shooting before the Christmas break.

I’m sure our favorite Golden Globe Best Actress nominee can bunk with friends for a while - maybe even Dominic Monaghan, who she is rumored to be dating.

LOST Connections: Jericho Edition

I had to make an IMDB check after watching Jericho this week. The guy drinking at the bar with the three women looked familiar, and I told my husband he had to be in Spiderman 2. And he was!

Aasif Mandvi worked at the pizza place that fired Peter Parker for [another] late delivery at the beginning of the movie.

Well, I was surfing around IMDB to do some actor checks on both Jericho and Day Break, and I got really confused when I saw Daniel Dae Kim’s name! That’s when I realized I was on the Spiderman 2 page, and he played Raymond, who worked with Otto Octavius.

It’s nothing important, but I feel like I played my own mini version of Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

L. Scott Caldwell (Rose) on tonight’s E.R.

I was looking at my computer screen when E.R. came on tonight and I heard a familiar voice. When I turned to look at the screen, I said, “It’s Rose!” Well, the actress who plays Rose on LOST, L. Scott Caldwell.

Caldwell plays a doctor in the NICU who is caring for Abby and Luca’s premature baby. After checking IMDB, I see that she played the same role back in 2004.

It’s always great to spot LOST actors on other shows, especially when I haven’t been reading about their appearances beforehand.
