The Office Debacle
Since there will be no LOST this week, I’ll use this opportunity to discuss last week’s season finale of The Office.
I was telling my husband that I would be surprised if Jim didn’t propose by the end of the episode. When he handed over the money for the fireworks and told the camera he was going to propose to Pam that night, I said, “Not surprised.”
But I was very surprised by the end!
I certainly never expected the other proposal. Then again, neither did Angela or anyone else! How he could be so totally clueless. “Sure” or “okay” are not the same as “yes.” You moron.
Jim… the look on his face when he realized his moment had been stolen. Putting the ring back in his pocket. It was absolutely horrifying to watch.
My heart was breaking for Pam. She was so upset. And I understood her disappointment. There was a day when I thought for sure that Tom (then boyfriend, now husband) was going to propose to me, and I was really disappointed when it didn’t happen. It did happen the following week, but man, it was a bit of a blow when it didn’t happen when I expected it to.
And Jan… pregnant? Yikes. That poor kid doesn’t have a chance.
Then there was the last bit. Phyllis was funny with her little monologue about getting high from party planning. (And she’s so much better at it than Angela!) She was probably the funniest person to find Dwight and Angela going at it in the office, just because she’s so non-sexual.
