Last night’s season finale of Jericho
My husband and I were afraid that Stanley wouldn’t live to see the end of the episode, but it was Jake’s father who bit the dust instead. It was sad when he died, but I didn’t actually start tearing up until his wife walked through the door.
The way the wedding flashbacks just melted into the current day scenes was very disconcerting. But I guess they served a few purposes. One was to show how far Jake has come in a few years, from drunken screwup to someone the town of Jericho can look to for leadership. The other was to foreshadow Jake’s “Nuts” reply to Constantino at the end.
I’d forgotten all about the tank. It certainly came in handy.
I wonder what exactly went through Hawkins’s mind when he saw the helicopters fly overhead at the end there. I think it was something along the lines of, “Aww, crap.” Though he’d probably curse. His wife was much smarter than he was. What was he going to gain from those few more seconds watching the satellite feed? I guess it worked out in Jericho’s favor in the end. Along with Heather’s information at Camp Liberty, help was dispatched rather quickly. Of course, the fighting has already started, so I wonder how many casualties there will be before the military steps in to break up the fighting.
But while having the military establish order is great for the town of Jericho as a whole, it’s really bad news for Hawkins. I’d like to think he could come forward and tell the Colonel he has the bomb as evidence, but when it comes down to his word against the word of the head of Homeland Security… he’s toast.
The new flag looks… interesting.
Next season should be really great.
